Step 1. Convert the mixed number into an improper fraction.
Step 2.Invert the second fraction upside down (this is a reciprocal) on dividing fractions.
Step 3. Then the reciprocal of second fraction is multiplied with first fraction.
Step 4. Shorten the dividing fractions.
The steps to be followed to covert a mixed number into an improper fraction are as follows:
1. Denominator of the fractional part is multiplied by whole number.
2. The number obtained above is inserted as the numerator of the fractional part to that result.
3.The denominator remains the same as of the fractional part of the original mixed number.
